About Mayumi
I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 17 years and for the last 7 years was the director of Shallots Cooking School (inside Nugget Market) in Vacaville. Over the years I have had the wonderful opportunity to learn from some of the best chefs in the region.
Because I am a full time mother of two young boys I was looking for a career that would afford me a flexible schedule along with the joy of working with food and people, as I had done before. Well, I didn’t find that “perfect” job, so I decided to take a leap of faith and venture out on my own. And this is how Fork&Knife Creations was born!
I am passionate about food in every way and I truly enjoy working with people to help them cultivate their “inner chef”. One of my greatest joys is passing on my knowledge of food to others and helping my students feel confident in the kitchen. If we stop for a moment and reflect on some of our happiest memories, most involve food! So learning to cook and sharing it with others can bring a great sense of pleasure and fulfillment to our everyday lives.
Thanks for your time in letting me inform you about what I do. I’m hoping if you don’t have a need for my service you might know someone who does. Private cooking classes make the perfect gift for the new bride/groom or the graduate, a caretaker, busy parents, those just starting out on their own, or anyone that simply wants to learn how to cook delicious food!
Happy cooking and bon appetit!
Sincerely,
Mayumi Tavalero
